Welcome to the West of England and South Wales Women’s History Network Blog
We welcome contributions to our blog on any aspect of women’s and gender history from anyone who has an interest they would like to share.
You can write about:-
Your
research, either in progress or completed (see ‘Possible Questions for Researchers’
below);
Biographical
pieces about famous or less famous women;
Your
event, workshop or conference;
An
event or exhibition you’ve attended;
Blogs
tied to events such as Women’s History Month (March) or Black History Month
(October);
Women’s
careers/women in the workplace (eg women in arts, women in engineering, women
in agriculture, etc);.
Women’s
rights campaigns and campaigners;
Resources
for women’s history such as letters and diaries.
These are just
examples and if you have any other ideas we’d love to hear them.
What you should
write:-
Blogs should be
between 500-1000 words.
If possible please
provide at least one copyright-free image that is ready to upload, ie forwarded
as a separate file and not embedded in the text of your post. Please note you
must provide us with details of the image source (credit) and evidence that it
is copyright free, out of copyright, in the public domain, licensed under
Creative Commons, or otherwise available for use. The WESWWHN will not apply
for licences; we cannot accept or use licences in your name; and licences
cannot be applied for on our behalf.
You should also
include a 100 word autobiography.

to write for the WESWWHN Blog please contact Lucienne Boyce at WHNWESTSWALES@outlook.com or lucienne@lucienneboyce.com in the first
instance with a brief outline (a few sentences is fine) of what your proposed
blog will cover.

Researchers
1. Tell us a little about
yourself.
2. Tell us a little more about your research topic.
3. Why did you decide to research
this topic?
4. What sort of material was
available to you [eg how much was there, how accessible was it, etc]?
5. Did you discover anything
surprising or unexpected?
6. Are you planning to do any
more research on this topic?
