Write for Us!

Welcome to the West of England and South Wales Women’s History Network Blog.

We welcome contributions to our blog on any aspect of women’s and gender history from anyone who has an interest they would like to share.

You can write about:-

  • Your research, either in progress or completed
  • Biographical pieces about famous or less famous women;
  • Your event, workshop or conference;
  •  An event or exhibition you’ve attended;
  • Blogs tied to events such as Women’s History Month (March) or Black History Month (October);
  • Women’s careers/women in the workplace (eg women in arts, women in engineering, women in agriculture, etc);.
  • Women’s rights campaigns and campaigners;
  • Resources for women’s history such as letters and diaries.

These are just examples and if you have any other ideas we’d love to hear them.

What you should write:-

Blogs should be between 500-1000 words and include at least one copyright-free image that is ready to upload. (Please note you must provide us with details of the image source (credit) and evidence that it is copyright free.) You should also include a 100 word autobiography. If you wish, you can send a headshot.

If you would like to write for the WESWWHN Blog please contact Lucienne Boyce at WHNWESTSWALES@outlook.com in the first instance with a brief outline (a few sentences is fine) of what your proposed blog will cover. If you would prefer us to suggest questions you could answer, please let us know.
